When you register for our events, respond to a survey or activate a paid member account to access our content, you provide us with personal information that includes your name, email, phone number and demographic information relating to your job role. A new password is only required for paid membership activation if SSO is not leveraged.

We do not sell the personal information we collect to third parties. At times, IANS may make the minimal level of your contact information available to vendors that provide services to IANS in order to service you. In such cases, you are provided the option to opt-out ahead of time. You may request our Data Processing Addendums with our vendors on a case-by-case basis.

Sharing with business partners:

With your consent, IANS may share personal identifiable information (PII), statistics and non-sensitive demographic information with business partners for research purposes via online diagnostic or related services. In such cases, you are provided with the associated business partner disclosure and the option to not partake in such services. You may request our Data Processing Addendums with our partners on a case-by-case basis.

We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain information that no longer identifies you indefinitely.

IANS participates in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss–U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. IANS is committed to subjecting all personal data received from Union (EU) member countries and Switzerland, in reliance on the Privacy Shield Framework, to the Framework’s applicable Principles. IANS is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives under the Privacy Shield Framework and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. IANS complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions.

With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework, IANS is subject to the regulatory enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. In certain situations, IANS may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
