IANS is committed to protecting your data. Our surveys are not designed to inform the technology vendor community, nor to sell follow on services. IANS and our survey partners will not sell or otherwise distribute your contact information or any details related to your responses to this research effort. We value your trust and will protect your privacy and confidentiality at the highest standard.

What We Do
IANS provides a range of services that assist information security professionals in protecting and leading their organizations. Our services include:

Information We Collect
When you register for our events, respond to a survey or activate a paid member account to access our content, you provide us with personal information that includes your name, email, phone number and demographic information relating to your job role. A new password is only required for paid membership activation if SSO is not leveraged.
If you
are not a paid member of IANS services, you may choose to provide us with basic contact information to receive updates about our services and events.
What data we collect:
When you visit our website, we collect certain information including:
- Unique browser identifiers
- IP addresses
- Operating system information
- Device identifiers
- Geolocation
- Internet connection information
- Details about your interactions with IANS websites and apps
- Contact information included in form fields
- Responses to diagnostic questionnaires
When we collect data:
- When you establish your account, update your account, or communicate with our team members.
- When you view or download website content.
- When you register to attend or attend IANS events.
- When you participate in our diagnostic questionnaires.

We use encrypted “cookies” to store small pieces of non-personal identifiable data on your computer’s hard drive in accordance with your internet browser settings to provide enhanced and customized browser experience.
How We Use Information We Collect

- Send information in accordance with your specified areas of interest.
- Gain additional information about you from other sources in furtherance of IANS’, and IANS clients’, business and marketing objectives.
- Comply with your preferences and do-not-contact requests.
- Comply with the law and protect our rights and safety or the rights and safety of others.
- On the basis of implied or express consent, such as to send you marketing communications and to customize you see on our website.
Sharing with third parties:
We do not sell the personal information we collect to third parties. At times, IANS may make the minimal level of your contact information available to vendors that provide services to IANS in order to service you. In such cases, you are provided
the option to opt-out ahead of time. You may request our Data Processing Addendums with our vendors on a case-by-case basis.
Sharing with business partners:
With your consent, IANS may share personal identifiable information (PII), statistics and non-sensitive demographic information with business partners for research purposes via online diagnostic or related services. In such cases, you are
provided with the associated business partner disclosure and the option to not partake in such services. You may request our Data Processing Addendums with our partners on a case-by-case basis.
Data retention
We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain information that no longer identifies you indefinitely.

IANS participates in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss–U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. IANS is committed to subjecting all personal data received from Union (EU) member countries and Switzerland, in reliance on the Privacy

IANS is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives under the Privacy Shield Framework and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. IANS complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward
transfers of personal data from the EU and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions.
With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework, IANS is subject to the regulatory enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. In certain situations, IANS may be required to disclose
personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
You may direct any inquiries or complaints related to our Privacy Shield compliance to privacy@iansresearch.com. If you have an unresolved privacy or data use concern that
we have not addressed satisfactorily, you may contact our U.S.-based dispute resolution provider (free of charge) at https://feedback-form.truste.com/watchdog/request.
Under certain conditions, more fully described on the Privacy Shield website, you may be entitled to invoke binding arbitration
when other dispute resolution procedures have been exhausted.
