Drawing on a decade of experience managing complex, high-profile situations at the highest levels of government and politics, Marti advises clients on a range of crisis and reputational matters, with a focus on cybersecurity, workplace conduct, corporate positioning and thought leadership.
Marti has advised clients in financial services, media, technology, information security, and healthcare industries, among others. A seasoned on-the-record spokesperson with extensive experience designing and executing local, national and international media strategies, she also specializes in media relations.
Marti joined Brunswick after serving New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as First Deputy Press Secretary, then as Deputy Communications Director, where she advised the Mayor, deputy mayors and key city agencies on day-to-day and long-term communications and media engagement strategies. Prior to City Hall, Marti spent six years serving in various press and communications roles for President Obama on both of his presidential campaigns and at the U.S. Treasury Department, where she served as the Spokesperson for the Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. There, Marti led the Obama Administration’s communications strategies related to economic sanctions, illicit finance, and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing policies. She is a graduate of Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History.
