Phil Gardner, IANS

Our Story

As a US Navy strike fighter pilot flying from an aircraft carrier, our founder Phil Gardner established the principles that IANS is based on:

Sweat the details. Be a good wingman. And focus on what matters.

From the start, our singular focus has been information security. We’re here to support CISOs and their teams in making more informed security decisions. High-level guidance is nice, but deep-domain insights are invaluable. So, we built our business around a Faculty that can support you with in-the-trenches security experience. At our first event in Dedham, Massachusetts, we recognized that CISOs want to share insights, want to collaborate, and want to compare notes with a community of like-minded professionals. These interactive discussions led us to adapt the Harvard Business School model of collective learning to fit the needs of the information security community at large.

What we do.

We deliver what CISOs and their teams need most: unbiased, practical advice; the ability to speak with professionals who understand their challenges; and peer interaction to keep their knowledge and skills fresh and up-to-date.

Decision Support

End-User Decision Support is our flagship offering delivered through an annual subscription service designed for CISOs and their teams. IANS connects you with independent experts and practitioners who have ‘been there, seen it, and done it,’ enabling you to accelerate your capabilities and make informed decisions.
